Experience at the Bar:
Since being called to the bar in 2009, Patrick's experience has included:
- Acting for a franchisee pharmacist in trade practices dispute in the Federal Court: Health Information Pharmacy Franchising Pty Ltd v Khoo [2010] FCA 438;
- Appearing for an option holder in Federal Court proceedings to approve a scheme of company arrangement: Re Sino Gold Mining Ltd (2009) 74 ACSR 647;
- Appearing for visa applicants and the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship in judicial review proceedings in the Federal Court and the Federal Magistrates Court: e.g. Minister for Immigration and Citizenship v SZLSP (2010) 187 FCR 362; SZOWB v Minister for Immigration and Citizenship [2011] FMCA 275;
- Successfully defending negligence proceedings in the Supreme Court on behalf of a local council: Vreman and Morris v Albury City Council [2011] NSWSC 39;
- Acting in other matters in Local, District, Supreme and Federal Courts across a range of practice areas including contract, equity and negligence.
Prior experience
Before commencing practice at the bar, Patrick worked for five years as a solicitor at Freehills. Prior to that he was the Associate to the Hon. Justice Beaumont of the Federal Court of Australia. Patrick has also taught part-time at the University of Sydney and the University of NSW.
